Carer Support Workshops Caring with Confidence is a series of FREE informal workshops which help carers build on their own skills and knowledge and become confident in their role. The workshops are free to any unpaid carer over 18. So if you are looking after somebody or supporting them, these workshops are open to you. You don't have to be caring full time and you don't have to be living with the person you are caring for. You can even have a separate full time job, but if you are caring for somebody, you have access to this useful programme. Comments from Carers "All the information is relevant. The more you know, the better your caring role will be". "I would recommend the sessions to other carers because of all the good information, discussion, support, togetherness & friendship" "Very thought-provoking reflecting on my own situation & ways to cope. I learnt a lot about myself". When are the Workshops Running? Generally courses are run on the same day and time each week for seven weeks. However, some courses are scheduled slightly differently so please check the dates of the course you are interested in before booking. You don't have to attend all of the workshops although most carers find they are all beneficial. The following start dates have been scheduled:
What does each workshop cover? There are seven sessions which together make up the programme:- Finding Your Way This introduction to Caring with Confidence gives you the opportunity to start exploring some of the essentials of caring and to look at what matters to you. It will also give you the chance to meet some of the other carers. What will I get from this session?
Caring and Coping Whilst giving you time and space to look at the emotions involved in looking after someone, this session will look at what strategies you use and what you could do to cope with stress more effectively. What will I get from this session?
